At the Heart of the Arts
The Killarney Turtle Mountain Arts Council provides a creative and welcoming space that promotes the growth of arts and culture across our region. From visual to musical to performing arts, we believe creativity is vital to the life of a community. Our purpose is to offer opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, learn, and take part in cultural experiences that enrich everyday life.
Board & Staff
KTMAC is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, a group of community members who give their time and leadership to support the arts. Their work ensures the Arts Council continues to grow and serve the region.
In 2018, KTMAC took an important step forward by hiring a part-time Arts Administrator to manage the gallery, develop programming, and support fundraising. In 2024, KTMAC expanded its team once again, welcoming a part-time Gallery Attendant — a role made possible in part through the ongoing support received each year from funding partners and the community.
Each summer, additional student staff have also joined the team through federal funding programs, helping deliver youth programming and special events.
OUR MISSION
Building a vibrant community through arts and culture
OUR VISION
A creatively empowered Killarney Turtle Mountain region
Heritage Home for the Arts
More than 100 years old, the Heritage Home for the Arts is a designated municipal heritage site restored by KTMAC and the community. Once a farmhouse, it now stands as a symbol of both history and renewal in the heart of Killarney.
Today, the Home serves as a cultural hub—hosting exhibitions, workshops, and events that celebrate creativity while preserving the community’s past. It continues to connect people through shared experiences that honour both art and heritage.
Gift Shop
The KTMAC Gift Shop, located inside the Heritage Home for the Arts, highlights the work of local artists and makers. Visitors can browse original artwork, handcrafted pieces, and thoughtful gifts that reflect the spirit of our community.
Proceeds from the shop support both the artists and the Arts Council’s programs, making each purchase a meaningful way to connect with the arts. With new works added throughout the year, there is always something fresh to discover.
Connections to the Art World
Art connects us across communities, cultures, and generations. This section brings together links to museums, galleries, and arts organizations that extend beyond our local region and into the wider world.
From Manitoba institutions to international landmarks, these connections showcase the breadth of creativity and provide inspiration for artists and audiences alike. Each link is an opportunity to explore and learn more about the arts.
