David Hallett is a Metis painter who currently resides in Winnipeg, MB. Dave has familial ties to Grand Rapids (Misipawistik) and Bisset, MB. David’s art reformulates the oral legends of his swampy Cree ancestors. Keeping in the tradition, he weaves legend loosely and interjects personal biographical references and contemporary ideas freely. David’s paintings are both creation and preservation. From his earliest works, in 1987 to present day pieces, David’s work is sure to leave an impact!
